Here is the process I used. There are a lot of steps, but most of them are very quick. Even so, I'm hoping I can come up with some ways to shorten the process and still get decent results, or maybe ways to get better results without noticeably lengthening the process. If you have any suggestions for improvements, please let me know.
- Prime Black
- Chaos Black - undercoat
- Adeptus BattleGrey - paint winter camouflage coat/pants and helmets, leaving black in recesses
- Fortress Grey - wet brush winter camouflage coat/pants and helmets, leaving some Astronomicon Grey at edges - AVOID boots, bases, and NCO pants
- Fortress Grey - edge highlight black boots
- Skull White - lightly wet brush winter camouflage coat/pants, leaving some grey at edges
- Codex Grey - dry brush NCO pants, black gloves, cloth hats
- Catachan Green - basecoat bread bags and straps, helmets
- Dark Angels Green - wet brush helmets, paint wide stripe on NCO pants (for infantry)
- Badab Black - wash black boots, bases, black gloves, helmets
- Tallarn Flesh - basecoat faces
- Gretchin Green - wet brush bread bags and their straps
- Elf Flesh - highlight/wet brush faces
- Dwarf Flesh - paint lower lips
- Calthan Brown - basecoat rifle wood, brown leather boots, belts, mittens, and rifle straps, wet brush ammo pouches
- Desert Yellow - wet brush/highlight rifle wood, brown leather boots, mittens
- Ogryn Flesh - wash faces, rifle wood, brown leather boots, ammo pouches
- Bleached Bone - highlight/dry brush mittens, wet brush rifle straps
- Adeptus BattleGrey - highlight gun metal
- Boltgun Metal - paint bayonets and cap buttons
- Skull White - paint cap badges
- Sky Blue - dot center of cap badges
- Chaos Black - dot eyeballs
Really realy nice, love the winter atmosphere...I'll come back for bases!
